Good day, my Chairman, honourable listeners, ladies and gentlemen. I stand today to discuss and propose a motion that states that, a “Female Child is More Important Than a Male Child”, with the below points of mine.

1. Female Child Does More Domestic Duties

One of the best points why female children are more important than male children in a family is because of roles in home duties, starting from house cleaning, cooking, washing plates, and others.

You will believe me that it’s very rare to see a male child do basic home duties, which leaves only the mother doing that work. When a family has a girl child, she starts at an early age to learn how to cook and prepare good meals for the family, but the boy child or most male children don’t take an interest in domestic activities, which makes a female child valuable in a family.

Having a female child helps or lessens some domestic duties at home, as she stays back home to cook or do minor cooking, but the male child will always be out of the home and only comes back to eat when food is ready.

2. Bride Price Are Gotten From a Female Child in Most African Homes

Having a well-trained and responsible female child in an African home is good wealth, as she gets to attract good and responsible wealthy men for marriage, and when such happens, a big bride price is paid to the family of the female child.

No male child collects a groom price in Africa, so this makes having a female child more beneficial to a family than a male child. Aside from the bride price paid, there are more things offered to the female child’s family during her wedding day, like gifts to the parents, and some families do get cars as gifts if their in-laws are very wealthy.

3. Female Children are More Caring

Yes, you will believe me that another reason why a female child is better and more important than a male child is because female children have compassion and caring hearts more than male children.

Generally, when parents need attention in their old age, you mostly see their female children around them, feeding, and taking good care of them, unlike the male gender who already has another family to care for once they marry.

A female child even when married still gives attention to her family, Carter for them, sends money to ensure that her family or parents are doing great, so that gives them more importance than male children.

4. Female Children Also Protects Family

You may think it’s only the male children that protect the family, but female children do that in various ways. One of the ways a female child can protect the name of her family is by being responsible and educated.

Female Education plays a helpful role in a girl’s life, which helps expose her to her rights and duties to her family, which she can do much better in providing and protecting the family as well. So just as the male gender protects, when you have a female child, she can do the same because there is a popular saying among Africans that says, “What a Man Can Do, A Woman Can Do Much Better”.

5. Female Child is Less Open to Danger

A female child is better than a male child because female children are less prone to danger than male children as male children always embark on or do more dangerous things like joining bad gangs because they are always seen moving around.

However, female children are seen at home more often either learning how to cook and become better mothers themselves or helping their parents at home, but the male gender always moves around and in most cases can even get involved in problems that don’t concern them, thereby getting themselves arrested and spoiling the family’s name.

Why is it Important to Raise a Girl Child?

The female child takes care of the family and also does more domestic duties, which makes it important that every family values their female children and raise them properly to become great women in future.
