Having a male child, keeping your family name going, and bringing about the good continuation of your family legacy. Why every African parent is happy having or when they bear a male child because they know that the male child will protect their family name by bearing more children who will answer or continue answering their names.

For example, if a particular family is known and respected with a good and unique name because of what their forefathers did, those families are respected will continue if they keep having offspring that continue beating that name, which can be achieved by having male children, because if they bear female children, once those female children are married out, their name changes to the name of their husbands, which brings an end to the good name or title of the female child family.

2. Family Inheritance is Taken By Male Children

Speaking of inheritance, you might argue with me that female children also inherit their family properties as well. However, not all things can be inherited by a female child, but all things can be inherited by a male child.

Let’s look at it this way, in most African villages, if a man is the king of that village, he strives to bear a male child, so his family can retain that kingship title when he is no more (kicks the bucket).
